Van build
During summer 2020, my partner and I traveled coast-to-coast in a 1995 Chevy G20 that we purchased and built out that spring. We built basic furniture, shelving, and chairs, a sink complete with electric motor and pump, and battery storage that recharged via the alternator. We visited 37 states that summer and still use it to do shorter trips around California.
Hydroponic Rail Transport Device
During spring 2020, I worked with a local hydroponics company as a favor to a family friend. We designed 3D-printed prototypes for a nylon clip that would transport the rails of plants throughout the greenhouse, powered by a motorized winch. I made the CAD, ran FEA, and created engineering drawings for the part. We passed the design on to a molder, who created an injection molded prototype, and after a brief pause on the project, we are now preparing to make tens of thousands with a patent in the works.
